Randy Munro
Randy grew up in a small town named Cranbrook in the middle of the Rocky Mountains. His love of the wilderness and sustainable energy led him to Thompson Rivers University in Kamloops B.C. where he studied Geography and Environmental Studies.
After his studies finished in 2015, he spent the next year expanding his horizons and went traveling. Over the course of the next year he explored Europe, South East Asia and Australia. Having never traveled outside of North America prior to this trip, a love for new cultures, meeting new people and exploring the world quickly matured and a new passion of his was born. While he has 1 more continent under his belt than Tom, he has only been to 35 countries so please contact Tom if you think Randy should have more vacation days to catch up.
During his time traveling he met his wife, who also shares his love for travel, and he moved to Switzerland to be with her, starting a whole new adventure.
Fast forward to today and Randy has crossed every continent but Antarctica off his travel list but still has a long list of places he wants to visit and is enjoying adapting to his new Swiss life.
Outside of traveling, Randy’s other passion is Baseball. Having played since he was 5 years old, he was excited to find a small but dedicated group of Baseball teams in Switzerland and is a proud member of the Hünenberg Unicorns.
Within the Unicorns, Randy is a board member, coaches the youth baseball team, plays on the men’s baseball team and also plays with the co-ed softball team.
What are your favourite parts of the job working at Summit?
“There are a couple… I enjoy that Summit’s core principals revolve around building strong relationships with both candidates and clients as that personal connection is important to me. In addition, I am also given the ability to try new ideas, sometimes fail, continue to learn and in the end grow and I know that I have the support of Tom and team while I do so. Finally, the team is just great. We are from all over the world and love sharing a laugh, talking shop, bouncing ideas at each other and just plain enjoying each other’s company while we are at work.”
