We are looking for an experienced Senior PL/I Mainframe Developer to support critical market migrations and extend our Zurich-based development team. In this role, you will contribute to the seamless execution of migration projects by working on PL/I-based applications, ensuring smooth integration with DB2, IMS, and web services. You will play a key role in maintaining high data integrity, optimizing performance, and implementing business-driven enhancements.
Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and optimize PL/I applications on IBM Mainframe (z/OS).
- Support market migration projects, ensuring robust system integration and data quality.
- Work with DB2 databases, ensuring efficient data processing and retrieval.
- Collaborate with cross-functional agile teams in Zurich and Wroclaw.
- Contribute to performance tuning, code optimization, and quality improvements.
- Work closely with business stakeholders to align technical solutions with strategic goals.
Must-Have Skills
? PL/I Development – Strong expertise in PL/I programming for mainframe applications.
? IBM Mainframe (z/OS) – Solid experience working in z/OS environments.
? DB2 & SQL – Proficiency in writing optimized SQL queries and working with DB2 databases.
? IMS & VSAM – Hands-on experience with IMS databases and VSAM file structures.
? Web Services (SOAP/REST) – Understanding of mainframe-based web service integrations.
? Strong Analytical Skills – Precision in handling critical data and complex processes.
? Teamwork & Problem-Solving – Ability to collaborate in an agile setting and deliver effective solutions.
Nice-to-Have Skills
? JCL & REXX – Familiarity with Job Control Language and automation scripting in REXX.
? CICS – Knowledge of transaction processing on mainframes.
? Performance Tuning – Proven experience optimizing PL/I and DB2 performance.
? Agile Methodology – Understanding of Scrum/Kanban execution processes.
? Banking/Financial Experience – Prior exposure to financial or banking applications is a plus.
